TXT Freely

October 30, 2009

TXT Freely was an idea I came up with in the middle of the night, after my first experience with setting up SMS gateways so that computers could alert people via text message. It features the ability to freely (who would’ve guessed?!) send text messages via a website to a number of wireless providers in the United States and Canada.

The site boasts a huge comical and “girly” design that’s very eye popping attractive. The ability to look up which wireless provider your friend has is included via a third party service. The actual text messages (SMS) are sent via each carriers Web SMS gateway. When a provider is selected, the message is re-routed behind the scenes to arrive at the right place.
